GTA V Enhanced PC Bug Reports Thread

we don’t have a menu to adjust the sound like in the legacy.
This is an issue with the E&E on consoles as well. There’s no way to change your speaker/headphone configuration, unlike 7th Gen/8th Gen/Legacy.
Music seems normal, but everything else is quiet; I can faintly hear in-game sound effects such as honking a horn, but I can’t hear (cutscene) dialogue whatsoever. Tested with both Story Mode and Online. I’m using Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 speakers connected to a Sound BlasterX AE-5 Pure Edition.
EDIT: It’s almost as if the game thinks I have a full surround setup. Sounds that are meant to play from the “center speaker” (e.g. dialogue) seem to be what is playing at a low volume (if not silent altogether), regardless of what the in-game sound slider is set to.
EDIT 2: You have to make sure your current audio device is set to “Stereo” in Windows (I’m on W11, the steps may be slightly different on W10):
- Right click the volume icon on the taskbar.
- Click “Sound settings”.
- Scroll down to the bottom and click “More sound settings”. This brings you to the legacy Windows sound menu.
- Right click your default device (it should be marked with a green check mark) and select “Configure Spea
- Make sure to switch to Stereo (I accidentally had my device set to “5.1 Surround”).
