“Start transcription” grey out during meeting in new Microsoft Teams

I understand that you are unable to transcribe during a teams meeting. Please let me know of the following to narrow down the issue. Thanks in advance.
- Have you been able to transcribe meetings before?
- If you hover your mouse over the ‘Start transcription’ option in your screenshot, is there any error/message that pops up?
In the meantime, please ensure that transcription is turned on for the meeting policy that is assigned to your account. This however needs admin access /permissions to check this in the teams admin center. You may reach out to your admin in case you do not have the permissions to check this for you. Steps below.
In the Teams Admin Center, select Users >Manage Users
- Search and select your user account to open the details >Policies >Meeting Policy.
- Click on the meeting policy assigned to your account.
Once the policy details are open, scroll down to recording and transcription and verify that transcription is turned on. Example in screenshot below.
->If your account is already assigned the global policy, the admin can create a new custom meeting policy with transcription turned on and assign it to your account.
