What is my Live ID?

For the sake of simplicity, a Microsoft Account and Outlook.com account are one and the same thing. Every Microsoft Account that is created has an Outlook.com email account associated with it . On the flip side, when you create an Outlook.com account and use it to purchase any Microsoft product/service, it adds it to your Microsoft Account. Yes, it can be a tad confusing but in essence
MS Account is used for things like account activity, security, purchases etc
Outlook.com account is used for email
In short, your Outlook.com address is your “Live ID”. Not entirely clear as to why the potential employer is explicitly asking for a “Live ID” – that part doesn’t make sense to me.
