Why does Punjabi culture dominate in Bollywood?
a large part of Punjab is still in India and same for Bengal… And obviously since KJo, YRF etc are Punjabis so they show Punjabi families… a lot of movies are also shot in Delhi these days, so Punjabi community is the most prevelant here…
And to show thumka dance and bhangra they will obviously have to show Punjabi families…otherwise how will they bring popular songs?
A lot of people in BW are from Punjab bcoz a lot of people who migrated post partition became huge stars… Raj Kapoor and the entire Kapoor family shifted to Mumbai and made it huge..same way many other Punjabis also got famous…this is why a lot of people are from Punjab… bt u will also find a lot of Bengalis… Gujratis are businessmen mostly, so they might be the financers of film…
